Accelerated Technology Announces Nucleus COM 3.0 for Automotive Developers Using the OSEK Standard
Embedded Systems Conference San Francisco 2003
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 24, 2003--Accelerated
Technology(R), the Embedded Systems Division of Mentor Graphics
Corporation (Nasdaq:MENT), today announced the release of the
Nucleus(TM) COM version 3.0, a software extension of the Nucleus OSEK
kernel.
By implementing Nucleus COM, developers can facilitate
inter-processor and intra-processor communication in their automotive
electronics application.
There has been a dramatic increase in semiconductor use in the
transportation industry. With this increase, it is necessary for
various processors to easily communicate with each other within an
embedded automotive application. Developers using the OSEK standard,
an industry benchmark for automotive electronics, can now implement
Nucleus COM to help processors transfer information across different
functional areas of a vehicle.
Nucleus COM is an implementation of the latest COM standard from
the OSEK committee. Nucleus COM is also a part of Accelerated
Technology's Nucleus OSEK real-time operating system (RTOS). Other
OSEK-related components include Nucleus NM, network management
software, and Nucleus CAN, a controller area network protocol used for
transferring serial data communication. Nucleus OSEK products provide
developers with such important benefits as cost savings, decreased
development time and enhanced end product quality.
"Nucleus COM provides OSEK developers with a solid implementation
of the IMH COM standard that can be used across development teams and
across different hardware platforms," said Robert Day, director of
marketing for the Embedded Systems Division of Mentor Graphics(R).
"The source code, no-royalty business model makes perfect sense for
the volumes associated with transportation applications and is backed
up by Accelerated Technology's top-notch technical support."
Availability and Pricing
Nucleus embedded software is licensed with source code and without
royalty fees. Available now, licenses for Nucleus COM 3.0 start at
$21,495. For more information, please contact Accelerated Technology
